Learning

Feeling FrustratedDear Kid Helper,
Like all kids, I am good at some things and less good at other things. However, when I don’t understand something that I am learning in school I get very frustrated. Sometimes I could cry! Then, when I see other kids getting it right while I am lost, I begin to feel more stressed! What can I do? Sincerely, Feeling Frustrated |

Homework Problem Dear Kid Helper,
Homework can be a challenge for me. Getting it done..and getting it done well, that is! When I get home I want to relax and play, and then it’s late and I’m too tired. I can see that it is getting frustrating for my parents too, because now they are nagging me when I haven’t started it. I worry that it will get worse for me when I have more homework next year and beyond. What can I do? Sincerely, Homework Problem |

For example, sometimes we disagree, sometimes we don’t get along, and sometimes we have felt mad, frustrated, and even borderline sad. I know that we’re all good students but we need some suggestions on how to work better together. Thanks for your help! Sincerely, Looking for Teamwork |

Mr. Work Troubles Dear Kid Helper,
Here’s my problem: when I try to get down to work some kids are preventing that from happening. They are doing things like talking, going off topic, distracting me, making faces, flinging pencils, etc. When I get a chance to work with kids who are serious then I feel like I can really shine. But when I work with these other kids, it stresses me out because I worry that I won’t finish my work. It also hurts my feelings when I ask them to stop and they make me feel like I’m being the bad guy when all I want is for us to finish the work. Any suggestions would be appreciated! From, Mr. Work Troubles |
Making Mistakes Dear Kid Helper,
When I get things wrong in school I feel really sad. Also, when I see that people are getting the right answer and I’m not it only makes me feel worse. Then, I get even more upset when people start to brag about being finished with the work when I am just starting. What can I do to feel better about myself in school? Sincerely, Making Mistakes |
